Tech - vCenter Root Password Reset

Okay, a nice and simple one for anyone who has forgotten their root vCenter password!

First, you'll need to navigate to the vCenter Server Appliance Management(VAMI):

https://vcentername.domain.internal:5480

Navigate to Access.

Use your chosen ssh client(or putty).

login using your [email protected](This is depending on permissions)

Type shell to launch BASH.

Type:

sudo passwd root
